Values

A 2026 dime’s market, once one exists in a shop, will depend on the strike and on whether the coin came from a Mint roll or from change. This page is a series reference, not a price list.

The mintage chart has no G, VF, or MS-63 column filled in. The NGC US Coin Price Guide extract on file, retrieved 2026-08-21, does not include the Semiquincentennial dime. A blank is a blank. Do not turn a product sell-out into a price.

If you are trying to sell a roll, start with how to sell a coin collection. The clad Roosevelt dime is a different coin.

Key Dates

There is one year. This page will not invent a key, and it will not bold a row that is not on the chart.

Errors

The missing olive branch is the design. Eric David Custer said the eagle remembers a war that had not reached peace yet. It is not a die chip and it is not a wrong-planchet error.

San Francisco proofs and the silver proof set are collector strikes. They are not circulation rows.

Compare the coin to the NGC Coin Explorer dime pages. We do not host their plates, and that Roosevelt listing is not this design.

Varieties

The 2026 dime is one design: Liberty in a cap, and an eagle with arrows and no olive branch. The dual date is the anniversary mark, not a second coin. This page has no major die variety to add. Roosevelt stays on the Roosevelt page.

Names follow PCGS CoinFacts and NGC, the same publishers this site already cites. This is a name list, not a price list and not a count.

Mintage

2026 Semiquincentennial dime mintage
YearMintMintageGVFMS-63

Mintage: the note under this table names the page that printed each count. These figures are not an NGC Coin Explorer extract and they are not the 1974 Mint pamphlet.

Collector-standard year/mint presentation follows A Guide Book of United States Coins (the Red Book). These cells are Mint manufacture figures, not a Red Book net or melt.

Values: NGC US Coin Price Guide, retrieved 2026-08-21. Guide values, not offers. Not melt. NGC IDs link to the same publisher’s price-guide listing.

Key date names: PCGS CoinFacts (2026-08-21). Bold rows are only dates that publisher named.

The Wikipedia semiquincentennial coinage table cites the US Mint circulating-production page retrieved 3 September 2026. That snapshot is not a full year. Blank cells stay blank. Filled cells from that retrieval are not copied here. Special issues named in the article stay off this chart.

The chart is empty on purpose. Wikipedia’s circulating table, citing the US Mint production page retrieved 3 September 2026, leaves the dime cells blank. That retrieval is not a finished year. This page will not copy a rounded sales note into the mintage column, and it will not invent a Philadelphia or Denver split.

The grade columns stay empty because this site has no NGC guide extract for this coin.

Specifications

These are mint specs, not what a dealer pays. Wear can take a little weight off. We will not invent a tolerance, and we will not paste the clad Roosevelt planchet onto a coin this page has not measured.

Grading

The 2026 dime wears first on Liberty’s cap and on the arrow feathers. The missing olive branch is the design.

This is not a Roosevelt dime. The torch reverse belongs on the other page.

Key Diagnostic Areas

What to read on this design, and why those spots move the grade.
AreaWhat to examineWhy it matters
Liberty’s capThe cap and the hair under it.Those high points go flat while the rim can still look new.
The arrowsThirteen arrows in the eagle’s claw, and the empty space where an olive branch is not.No branch is the 2026 reverse. Do not call it a missing device.
FieldsBag marks and slide marks from a Mint roll.A bright coin from a roll can still be marked. Marks are not a grade by themselves.

Circulated & Mint State

These cards describe this coin, not a second copy of the P-1 through MS-70 chart. The shared numbers live on the glossary.

See graded photos. The photos that show what VF looks like live at PCGS. We do not host their plates. NGC Coin Explorer is another look if you want a second set.

What each named grade looks like on this design.

Poor

Poor

A disk you can still call a 2026 dime if you already know the type.

  • Liberty’s cap and the arrow feathers are gone.
  • The date may be a shadow. Do not scrape it.
  • Shine does not make this a better coin.

AG

About Good

You might read a digit. The high points on this 2026 dime are already slick.

  • Liberty’s cap and the arrow feathers are worn to a blank patch.
  • If you cannot read the date without hoping, stay here.
  • A 2026 is still this grade if it is this worn.

Good

Good

The date is readable. The design is still mostly an outline.

  • Liberty’s cap and the arrow feathers are flat. The type is an outline, not a portrait.
  • The rim should be full enough to hold the legend.
  • This is a worn coin, not a details story.

VG

Very Good

The date is clear. A little life returns away from the high points.

  • Some leftover detail sits away from liberty’s cap and the arrow feathers.
  • The high points are still tired.
  • Do not clean the date to “see it better.”

Fine

Fine

You can follow the design. The high points are outlined, not sharp.

  • Liberty’s cap and the arrow feathers are outlined and flat — no real sharpness yet.
  • The rest of the coin can look busier than the grade.
  • The date should be clear. The mint mark should be too, if there is one.

VF

Very Fine

The type is doing real work. Liberty’s cap and the arrow feathers still decide.

  • Leftover detail sits on liberty’s cap and the arrow feathers. The centers are still the worn spot.
  • Marks do not raise the grade.
  • A regular 2026 is still this grade if it is this worn.

EF

Extremely Fine

Most of the coin looks sharp. The high points tell on it.

  • Light wear on liberty’s cap and the arrow feathers.
  • The rest of the coin can look better than the grade. Trust the high points.
  • The date should be sharp.

AU

About Uncirculated

Almost no wear — and “almost” lives on the same high points.

  • A trace of rub on liberty’s cap and the arrow feathers.
  • Luster may still sit in the fields. Rub on those high points is still rub.
  • A bright coin with a slick high point is still slick.

Basal MS

Mint State

No wear. The fight is marks and luster, not how white the coin looks.

  • No rub on liberty’s cap and the arrow feathers.
  • Marks and luster decide how this mint-state coin lives.
  • A bright chewed-up coin is still chewed-up.

Choice

Choice Mint State

Still no wear. Cleaner fields than basal mint state.

  • Same no-wear rule on liberty’s cap and the arrow feathers.
  • Fewer marks in the fields. Luster is more intact.
  • White is not a grade.

Gem

Gem Mint State

A clean 2026 dime for this type. Still mint state, still not a story.

  • No wear on liberty’s cap and the arrow feathers.
  • Marks and luster, not a romance about a date or a white field.
  • A slab is an opinion in plastic. The glossary has the numbers.

San Francisco proofs exist in the year’s sets. This page does not invent a PR price grid. The proof numbers live on the glossary.

Copper color designations do not apply to this clad dime. See the Lincoln Wheat cent and the glossary.

Overview

The 2026 dime is the circulating ten-cent piece for the semiquincentennial, the 250th anniversary of American independence. Collectors have called it the Emerging Liberty dime. Liberty faces out under a cap. The reverse eagle clutches thirteen arrows and does not hold an olive branch. It is not the Roosevelt dime. The five anniversary quarters are on their own page.

The photograph is not on file. A single-side Mint image is not a paired type plate, so the placeholder stays.

This page is a series article, not a shop listing.

History

The Circulating Collectible Coin Redesign Act of 2020 authorized anniversary designs for 2026. Committees looked at Liberty heads in 2024. The Mint announced the circulating designs on 10 December 2025. The dime and the half dollar went out for circulation with the Mayflower quarter on 5 January 2026. Rolls and bags of the dime sold out in minutes when the Mint offered them in April 2026. That is a product story. It is not an annual mintage.

The cent of 2026 is not a circulation coin. The nickel kept the Jefferson portrait. Neither is this page.

Design

Obverse: Liberty in a cap, designed by Esao Andrews and sculpted by Eric David Custer. Reverse: an eagle with thirteen arrows, designed and sculpted by Custer. The date is the dual date of the anniversary issue. There is no olive branch.

Look at the cap and the arrow feathers. Those are the high points. Then read the reverse before you call a missing branch damage.

People Also Ask

What is the 2026 dime?

The circulating dime for the 250th anniversary. Wikipedia calls the theme Liberty over Tyranny. Liberty wears a cap on the front. The eagle on the back holds thirteen arrows and no olive branch.

How much is a 2026 dime worth?

This page does not print a price. The NGC guide extract on file does not include these coins. A bag or roll sold by the Mint is a product price, not a grade.

Why is the mintage chart empty?

The Wikipedia circulating table cites the US Mint production page as retrieved on 3 September 2026. The dime cells on that snapshot are blank, and a year-to-date retrieval is not a full-year mintage. This page will not invent one.

Is this a Roosevelt dime?

No. Roosevelt stays on the Roosevelt page. This is a one-year anniversary design. The cent and the nickel kept their old portraits and only gained a dual date.

Collector Considerations

Buy the coin you can see. A circulation dime with honest clash marks is a 2026 dime. A proof in a Mint capsule is a proof. Do not grade one as the other.

If you pulled one from change, leave the surfaces alone. Clad shows wipe marks. The coin dealer directory starts in Ohio.

For the five quarter designs of the same year, read the Semiquincentennial quarters. For the half dollar, read the Enduring Liberty half.

A Final Word

The 2026 dime is a one-year design with an empty chart until a full-year count is printed. Read the arrows. Do not invent the olive branch, and do not invent the mintage.

When you want the clad dime that this coin interrupted, the Roosevelt dime is already here.
